CITY ANNOUNCES NEW ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS FOR FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS

COLLEGE PARK, MD September 19, 2018 - City Manager Scott Somers has announced the appointment of Francesco “Frank” Pacifico as the new Assistant Director of Public Works for Facilities and Operations effective October 1, 2018. Pacifico takes the position left vacant after Robert Marsili was made Director of the Department in July. “With over 27 years of working for Public Works departments in D.C. and Baltimore, Pacifico brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. We are excited to bring him on and see all the great things he’ll bring to the Department of Public Works” said Somers.

Prior to his employment with the City, Pacifico served as the Fleet Administrator for the District of Columbia’s Department of Public Works. During his tenure with the District, he has held roles such as Street and Bridge Maintenance Chief Program Manager, Traffic Systems Maintenance Manager and Associate Administrator for the Department of Public Work’s Parking Enforcement Management Administration. Prior to his work in D.C., Pacifico was the General Superintendent for Transportation Maintenance with the City of Baltimore.

“Please extend a warm welcome to Frank when you see him during Curbside Leaf Removal, October Clean-Up Saturdays or the many other services that the Department of Public Works provides” said Somers.
