COVID-19 vaccinations will be coordinated through Prince George’s County and the State of Maryland. The City of College Park will not be coordinating vaccination distribution. For more information on the County’s vaccination distribution plan, visit the County's page here.

Prince George's County is currently in Phase 1C (effective January 25). Phase 1C includes:
Adults ages 65-74 years of age
Health and human services not covered in Phase 1A
Public safety not covered in Phase 1A
Essential workers at high risk of exposure (in alphabetical order)
- Food and agriculture workers (farms and processing centers)
- Grocery store workers
- Public transit workers (including transport for seniors and persons with disabilities)
- Postal service workers

- How do I know if I am eligible to receive the vaccine?
- Individuals who fall into the categories listed above for the current vaccine phase (Phase 1C), as well as for the previous phases (Phase 1A and 1B), are eligible to receive the vaccine at this time. For information on eligibility in each vaccine distribution phase, visit the County's website here.
- I'm eligible! How do I schedule an appointment to be vaccinated?
- Individuals who live or work in Prince George's County who are eligible for the vaccine are required to fill out a pre-registration form that can be found on the County's website here. As vaccine appointments become available, individuals who are eligible will receive an email from the Health Department with a link and instructions on how to make a vaccine appointment. COVID-19 vaccines are offered by appointment only.
- I was eligible for a vaccine in Phase 1A or 1B, but still have not received the vaccine. What should I do?
- Individuals who were eligible to receive vaccinations in Phase 1A and 1B and still have not received the vaccine should fill out the pre-registration form as well.
- I am not yet eligible to receive the vaccine, but plan to get vaccinated when I am eligible. What should I do?
- Anyone who lives or works in Prince George's County who does not fall into Phase 1A, 1B, or 1C should still fill out the pre-registration form. Based on your responses, you will be notified of eligibility when the County moves into future phases of vaccine distribution. As appointments become available, you will receive a link with instructions on how to schedule your vaccine appointment.
- How do I find a vaccination clinic near me?
- The State of Maryland has a tool on its website to find the closest vaccination clinic near you. Visit that page here.
- What should I bring to my vaccination appointment?
- Your ID
- Your insurance card (if you have insurance). Insurance is not required to receive the vaccine.
- Can I receive a vaccine if I do not have an appointment scheduled?
- Prince George's County is not accepting walk-ins for vaccinations at this time.
- I am interested in learning more about the vaccine. Where can I do so?
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY VACCINATION DISTRIBUTION PLAN UPDATE – JANUARY 19, 2021
Prince George's County has moved into Phase 1B effective Monday, January 18, 2021. Phase 1B includes:
Phase 1B includes:
- Adults ages 75 and up
- Assisted living and other congregate settings (including staff and residents of homeless shelters)
- Education/Childcare Sector (teachers and support staff, higher education, child care workers)
- Government continuity of operations
All residents who are eligible for the vaccine are now required to fill out a pre-registration form on the County's website before they receive a vaccine appointment; if you are in Phase 1A or 1B and do not have an appointment scheduled between now and February 9, you must first fill out pre-registration form.
If you have a vaccination appointment scheduled after February 9, you will need to reschedule your appointment due to the County resetting its appointment schedule. Anyone with an appointment scheduled after February 9 will receive a notice from the health department in the mail and will be required to fill out the pre-registration form online to be able to reschedule; residents who complete the form will be notified when they are eligible for the vaccine; eligible residents will be sent a unique link through the health department which will allow them to go online and schedule an appointment. If you have an appointment for your second dose after February 9, you do not need to reschedule your appointment.
Phase 1C is set to begin on Monday, January 25. Phase 1C includes:
- Adults 65-74 years of age
- Health and human services not covered in Phase 1A

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY VACCINATION DISTRIBUTION PLAN UPDATE – JANUARY 15, 2021
Prince George's County is currently in Phase 1A of its vaccination distribution plan. Phase 1A (January-February) includes:
- Hospital and frontline health care workers:
Most hospital and frontline health care workers will be vaccinated at their place of employment. - Residents and staff of long-term care facilities/nursing homes:
Individuals living and working in long-term care facilities and nursing homes will be vaccinated as a part of the Federal Pharmacy Partnership Program. The State of Maryland and/or the pharmacies that are part of the program will coordinate directly with long-term care facilities. - Frontline first responders/essential public safety workers:
All eligible frontline first responders and essential public safety personnel will receive an email from the County Health Department with instructions on how to make an appointment to receive their vaccination. - All licensed, registered and certified health care providers:
All licensed, registered and certified healthcare providers are required to report the number of individuals that will likely receive the vaccine using the vaccination pre-registration form. When the Health Department is ready to start scheduling appointments, these healthcare providers will receive a link to schedule their appointment. The Department of Corrections staff will receive an email from the County Health Department with instructions on how to make an appointment to receive their vaccination.
When the County is ready to begin Phase 1B (February-March), individuals who are eligible to receive the vaccine in Phase 1B will be required to sign up for an appointment at a vaccination clinic through the State of Maryland’s vaccine website: marylandvax.org/
Phase 1B will include:
- Adults ages 75 and up
- Assisted living and other congregate settings
- Education/Childcare Sector (teachers and support staff, child care workers)
- Critical government leadership for continuity of operations
When the County is ready to begin Phase 1C (March-April), individuals who are eligible to receive the vaccine in Phase 1C will be required to sign up for an appointment at a vaccination clinic through the State of Maryland’s vaccine website: marylandvax.org/
Phase 1C will include:
- Adults 65-74 years of age

CDC Temporary halt in residential evictions
From the CDC's website: CDC Director Redfield signed a declaration determining that the evictions of tenants could be detrimental to public health control measures to slow the spread of COVID-19.

SUMMARY OF CURRENT COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS - AUGUST 20, 2020
Below is a quick summary of current COVID-19 requirements from the State of Maryland and Prince George’s County. This is not a comprehensive list, but is meant to be used as a guide to help all College Park residents understand the requirements, how to report issues, and the enforcement of those requirements.
SOCIAL DISTANCING – GENERAL RULE
- Follow the most current guidance from CDC and Maryland Department of Health:
- Avoid large gatherings and crowded places.
- Stay at least six (6) feet (both indoors and outdoors) from those who are not in your immediate household.
FACE COVERINGS AND MASKS- A face covering or mask must fully cover a person’s nose and mouth and be secured to the person’s head. This includes scarves, bandanas, and disposable and cloth coverings.
- Everyone in Maryland over the age of five (5) must wear a face covering when they are on public transportation. Governor’s Order 20-08-03-01, dated August 3, 2020. Link.
- Everyone in the County over the age of two (2) must wear a face covering when on the “The Bus”, the County transit system; indoors at public places (such as religious facilities, stores, restaurants, healthcare facilities, indoor recreation centers, fitness centers and salons); outdoors, when unable to consistently maintain at least six feet of distance from others; engaged in work where food is prepared/packaged; or interaction with others is likely. - There are some exceptions, like when actively eating or drinking or if communicating with someone who has a hearing impairment. Please read the County Executive’s Order and the County Health Officer Directive and Order for Enhanced Consumer and Employee Safety dated August 4, 2020 for the further information. Link.
- The County requires that retail and business establishments take all steps necessary to ensure that customers are compliant. Health Officer’s Directive and Order.
LIMIT ON GATHERINGS
- Prince George’s County restricts all gatherings to one person/family unit per 200 square feet of indoor square footage, or a maximum of 50 persons (whichever is lower) at all locations and venues--including private residences. This includes indoor and outdoor gatherings, unless exempted in the County Health Officer Directive and Order.
- Please check with your landlord or the listing for your property on the SDAT website for your property’s indoor square footage. The number to use is the square footage for the single-family home you live in, or for your individual unit only in multi-unit apartment buildings, divided by 200. For most single-family homes in College Park, this limits allowable gatherings to only 10-20 people, total, inside and/or outside.
STANDING IN LINE
- When queueing outside for entry to commercial establishments or other businesses, you must maintain six (6) foot social distancing unless with members of your immediate household. If you cannot do so, you must wear a mask.
REPORTING
- To report any potential infractions, including large gatherings:
- Please call the City’s Code Enforcement Hotline at 240-487-3588. The City will forward all COVID-19 related complaints to the County’s Department of Health.
- To report directly to the County, call 311 or email covidcompliance@co.pg.md.us.
- The County’s Department of Health oversees all COVID-19 related matters and will either investigate or contact local law enforcement if needed.
- Continue to call 9-1-1 to report any emergencies.

- The County has also set up a COVID related scam hotline (410-576-6300) and website.
ENFORCEMENT
- The State has declared that each law enforcement officer of the State shall execute and enforce the State’s Order and any local Order. A person who willfully violates the State’s or any Local Orders is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding one year and/or a fine not exceeding $5,000. - Prince George’s County directives and orders will be enforced by the County’s Health Department with the assistance of additional County agencies including law enforcement as needed. County Health Officer Directive and Order.
- The County will conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections through its Ambassador Program of retail and business establishments. Any retail and business establishment that does not comply with the County’s Directive and Order will be subject to a fine of $1,000 and if non-compliant during a subsequent inspection, the establishment will be subject to closure by the County.
- A person who knowingly and willfully violates the County’s Directive and Order is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding one year or a fine not exceeding $5000 or both.
- Violations and fines based on City Code Chapter 141-1 may be issued by City Code Enforcement whenever the County Executive and Health Officer orders are violated.
- Repeated violations can result in the revocation of the City’s rental occupancy permit.
- University of Maryland students who are in violation will be referred to the University’s Office of Student Conduct for possible sanctions.
JUNE 29, 2020
On Thursday, June 25, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks announced that the County will begin a full Phase Two re-opening effective today, Monday, June 29 at 5:00 p.m.
Phase Two includes the reopening of playgrounds and fitness centers, as well as updated guidelines on gatherings. Unless specifically stated in the Executive Order, social, community, spiritual, religious, recreational, leisure, and sporting gatherings and events (“large gatherings and events”) are limited to one person/family unit per 200 square feet, or a maximum of 100 persons – whichever is lower – at all locations and venues. Planned larger gatherings and events must be canceled or postponed. CDC and MDH physical distancing protocols must be followed.
In response to the County Executive’s announcement, effective Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 8:00 a.m., the following City services and facilities will resume and reopen as follows:
- City playgrounds and fit lots will reopen to the public. All visitors must adhere to physical distancing guidelines. The City has installed hand sanitizing stations at all City playgrounds. For playground safety guidelines from the CDC, please click here. City parks remain open for personal fitness, fitness classes, and low contact sports. Ball courts remain closed.
As a reminder, City office and facilities have reopened to the public. All visitors must wear proper face coverings and maintain physical distancing. Signs have been installed with reminders of CDC guidelines. City facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily Monday through Friday, with special attention given to high contact areas. Hand sanitizer is provided at each location and restrooms are stocked with soap and paper towels.
