Preliminary concept plan received for public comment, available under project documents. Comments have been forwarded to design contractor for revisions. Concept plan drafted to incorporate feedback from community.
Concept plan has been submitted to Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC), and has received approval. Geo-technical work is complete. Final design submitted to Prince George's County for approvals.
RFP advertised, construction proposals submitted and reviewed. Recommendation for award of construction contract provided to Mayor & Council. Construction contract fully executed and required documents received. Required pre-construction meeting with DPIE, contractor and City in the process of being scheduled.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project will create a new play area for neighborhood children. The parcel of land was donated by longtime residents to the City in 1999 for recreational use.
FUNDING
Anticipated Total Project Cost: $265,200.00
Funding comes from the City’s General fund, but the project may also qualify for Open Space Funding.
