College Park Airport & Aviation Museum

The College Park Aviation Museum is located on the grounds of the world's oldest continuously operating airport.  The College Park Airport was founded in 1909 by Wilbur Wright to provide flight instruction to the first military aviators.

The museum features historic and reproduction aircraft associated with the history of the airfield, as well as hands-on activities and interpretive areas for children of all ages.

The College Park Airport is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and still has planes land and take-off daily.  The airport is home to the first airmail flight over 100 years ago!

Lake Artemesia Natural Area

Developed during the construction of the nearby Washington Metro rail line, Lake Artemesia is named for local resident Artemesia N. Drefs, who donated the land for a public purpose. Her family had previously used the natural ponds as a goldfish farm.

This public park features a 38-acre lake, a handicapped accessible fishing pier, and aquatic gardens. More than two miles of hiker-biker trails surround and connect the lake with other trails, neighborhoods and attractions.  The natural area is a great place to bird watch and to fish as well!

College Park Tennis Center

The College Park Tennis Center offers tennis classes to children and adults.  The Center also hosts seasonal festivals, school outreach programs and other activities to engage the community in the sport of tennis.
