Yard Waste Collection Has Resumed
Curbside
leaf collection with the leaf vacuums is complete and
yard waste (leaves, grass, and vegetative material – NO
brush, branches or logs) will now be picked up on your
regularly scheduled collection day. Use paper yard waste
bags or reusable containers ONLY, and place at the curb
by 7:00 a.m. on your regular collection day. Yard waste
in plastic bags will not be collected. Reusable
containers must display a yard waste sticker, available
to City residents at City buildings; stop in to pick one
up! If you have more than 10 bags of yard waste,
please call Public Works at 240-487-3590 for a special
pickup appointment.
SMARTLEAF® Compost and Wood Mulch Program
Screened compost is available for $18.55 per cubic yard
(including tax). Wood mulch is available for $5.30
(including tax). Material may be picked up at Public
Works Monday through Friday 8:00 – 11:30am and 1:00 –
3:30pm, or deliveries can be arranged for an additional
charge (Thursdays and Fridays). Delivered material
cannot be unloaded in the street or right-of-way. Please
